Didn't work on an 08 Tundra 5.7
I have used K&N in the past with good performance and ease of maintenance, however the filter I purchased for my 08 Tundra 5.7L V8 produced a whine under normal acceleration. The problem was resolved as soon as I replaced with the OEM filter. High marks to Amazon Prime for the ease of return and credit to my card. K&N needs to go back to the drawing board for the 5.7L Toyota engine...

Great Product

One of the first things I always do when I get a new vehicle is put a K&N air filter in. The K&N will increase air flow, performance, responsiveness, and save you money. I was a little worried before I bought the filter because I read so many peoples complaints about a whistle sound it produces. Even after the warnings I still purchased because I believe in the K&N brand. The filter came and it just like any other K&N filter I purchased. This one is stock size so it can be put in the stock air box. It will literally take you 5-10 minutes to install. It fits great and I am impressed with the results. As far as the whine I do hear it every once and a while but it does not bother me. It is a small trade off for better performance. Also it is great when you get your oil change you don't have to hear the mechanics try to sell you on another paper air filter. As far as mpg I did not see a increase unfortunately. Also...
Excellent Filter. Exposes design flaw with 5.7 L Toyota Sequoia and Tundra which can be resolved
Pros:
Excellent filter with excellent airflow to your engine.
Will last longer than the vehicle with routine cleaning and spray oil, so saves money in the long haul.
Cons:
Not a "Con" for this filter.. a "Con" for Toyota: Installing this filter exposes a flaw with the Toyota 5.7 Liter engine, where a very high pitch sound is generated by a metal mesh located behind the throttle body. The OEM filter masks this noise (likely becuase of its density and restricting airflow). To correct this, remove the two bolts holding the throttle body to the intake manafold (after first removing the air filter housing) and then use a pair of wire snips to clip out the wire mesh from the gasket behind the throttle body. Replace and high pitch noise goes away. (I installed a new stereo arround the same time as this filter and thought the noise was the radio... very high pitch and sounded like it was from the speakers inside the cabin...
